Maison Luxama atelier — Parisian craftsmanship workshop

Our Story

Made to Endure

Maison Luxama was founded on a single conviction: that the objects we live with should outlast the moment of their making.

Heritage

Born of Two Worlds

Maison Luxama was established in Paris in 2009 by Isabelle and Édouard Luxama, a designer and a master craftsman who met in the ateliers of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. Their shared conviction was simple: that beauty and durability are not in opposition — they are the same thing, seen from different angles.

The name Luxama is a contraction of their family names, and a quiet declaration of intent. Every piece in the collection carries the mark of both — the designer's eye for proportion and restraint, and the craftsman's insistence on materials that improve with age.

Beauty and durability are not in opposition — they are the same thing, seen from different angles.

The Atelier

Where Each Piece Begins

Our atelier occupies a former silversmith's workshop on the Île Saint-Louis, a space that has housed craftspeople for over three centuries. Here, a small team of twelve artisans works across disciplines — joinery, upholstery, metalwork, and fragrance — each a specialist, each a generalist in the Maison's language of restraint.

We do not work to seasonal collections. A piece enters the range when it is ready — when the proportions are resolved, the material is sourced, and the prototype has lived in the atelier long enough to reveal its character. Some pieces take six months. Others have taken four years.

Philosophy

The Craft of Restraint

Provenance First

Every material is traced to its source. We know the quarry, the tannery, the grove. Provenance is not a marketing claim — it is the foundation of accountability.

Made to Be Repaired

We design for disassembly. Every joint, every seam, every fitting can be accessed and restored. A Maison Luxama piece should never be discarded — only renewed.

No Seasonal Obsolescence

We do not follow trends. Our pieces are designed to be as relevant in thirty years as they are today. Timelessness is not a style — it is a discipline.

The Long Relationship

We remain in contact with every client. We track how pieces age, offer restoration services, and occasionally buy back pieces to study how they have lived.

The People

A Small House, Deliberately

We are a house of twenty-two people. We have chosen to remain small — not from modesty, but from conviction that intimacy is the condition of quality.
